Then we’ll dive into increases and decreases, learning to make the beautiful swoops and paths that set brioche knitting apart. We’ll explore the simple and the more complex, each proceeding at our own comfortable pace.

Along the way, Amy will provide keys to reading and fixing mistakes in brioche knitting — without ripping out or starting over! You’ll learn how to notice errors as they occur, fix them in the current round, or drop down to fix mistakes many rounds ago. By the end of our time together, you’ll be feeling confident about brioche and excited to explore more.

Materials: 120 yards each of a dark and a light-colored smooth, worsted-weight yarn, 16" circular needle in the size you usually use for worsted weight yarn, 2 locking stitch markers, a crochet hook suitable for the yarn weight (size H, I, or J is generally good)

Homework: Using long-tail cast-on, cast on 80 stitches loosely with the dark yarn and join to work in the round. Knit one round, knitting every stitch. Knit a second round in K1 P1 ribbing.
