Curious about methods to fix knit fabric? Intrigued by visible mending? Interested in adding duplicate stitch to knit fabric? In this workshop, you’ll learn all these skills. We’ll start with an overview of mending techniques, including darning and patching. Then, we’ll cover a few simple ways to add both strength and beauty to fabric, including duplicate stitch. You can apply what you learn to many types of fabrics, not just handknits!
Awesome Embroidery Stitches for Knits
Learn a variety of versatile, eye-catching embroidery stitches to personalize and embellish your clothing and household textiles. Embroidery is also a fabulous way to cover stains and other imperfections! During this workshop, you'll work with a blend of new and vintage threads and fabrics. By the end, you'll walk away with the confidence to embellish your own wardrobe or create the perfect low-waste gift.
When Ann Weaver is not traveling to teach or exploring thrift stores and estate sales, you will find her in West Baltimore, where she works as Hospitality Manager at Creative Alliance and runs Plied Yarns. Mending, knitting, dyeing, sewing, and piecing—she uses all her skills to give her finds new life. She loves inspiring and empowering students in her individualized, laid-back workshops.
