YOUR HOSTS
Lauren Baldwin
Lauren doesn’t remember learning to knit but believes her mother taught her originally as a small child. Many other skilled and talented knitters helped her build on those first basic skills. She has been knitting avidly since after her first child was born in 1996 and has taught knitting, worked as a help person at a yarn shop, and hosted knitting retreats in New Mexico. And this year, she began learning to spin. She works in the legal profession, lives in Albuquerque, and hikes and backpacks around the Southwest. She is excited to knit and hike with everyone at Ghost Ranch, a beloved place she has been exploring for over 30 years.
Lori Osburn
Lori loves all things fiber arts. She learned to knit as a child and picked it up again as an adult in the late 1980’s. As a new garment knitter, she made sweaters for her young sons, but then the quilting bug took over. She picked up knitting yet again in 2005 and has been hooked since. She worked at a local yarn store for a year after retiring from teaching and can often be found frequenting a yarn store somehwere. Lori and her husband enjoy camping and hiking, and have visited Ghost Ranch many times. Having already explored much of New Mexioc, they now plan to visit as many National Parks (and yarns stores) as possible in the coming years.
